The
Ashery Country Store originated in an Amish neighbor's basement in
the mid-late 1960's. From the above photo, taken in the early 1970's,
to the present day Ashery Country Store, we have undergone many changes
to better accommodate and serve our valued customers.
The Ashery got its name from a soap making factory which was located across the road from where the store now sits. The soap was made of lye and ashes which is where the name "Ashery” came from. The store was also home to the Ashery Cheese Company (the building attached to the front of the residence in the above photo).
My parents, Cecil & Freda Yoder, raised our family in the business with a belief that everything we own is God’s. They stood for integrity and honesty and passed these values on to us children. Cecil passed away in 2004 after a short battle with cancer. After the passing of my father, I, along with my wife, Rhonda, bought the business from my mother, desiring to follow in their footsteps.
From the beginning, my father and I both have made it our goal to provide our customers with quality products at reasonable prices. Our line of products include – deli meats, cheeses, pastas, candy, baked goods, a variety of dip, snack, cookie and soup mixes, a complete line of baking needs, spices, dried fruits, nuts, jams, peanut butter ground fresh daily and much more.
