Yoder's Amish Home was purchased in 1972 by Eli and Gloria Yoder.  Somewhat unsure of what to do with the badly run down farm which had been rented out to Amish families for 10 years, Eli and Gloria decided to do what they had in the back of their minds all along.  After extensive repairs (the little house was being used as a chicken coop!), Yoder's Amish Home was opened for visiting in 1983. Eli had been part of the Old Order Amish faith until the age of 21.  Gloria was raised "English" in an Amish community, having gone to a mostly Amish school until the 5th grade and lived just about 1/2 mile from Eli.  With both of their heritages rooted in this culture and community, they thought it would be a great idea to share this unique culture with visitors from all over the world.  For the past 20 plus years, Yoder's Amish Home has been striving to give visitors an inside look at our culture and people.  Stop in and visit -- we are glad to host you.

Yoder's Amish Home opened to the public in 1983.  We have strived for authenticity and want to share our knowledge and heritage with you.   The history and customs of the Amish faith will be explained.  We want your visit to our farm to be educational, enjoyable and tranquil.  Step back in time and enjoy a quiet and simple lifestyle.  Tell your friends and come back again.
